The Yellowstone Years

Join me for a journey through Yellowstone National Park. I spent several summers surveying the Park’s wetlands to record changes in amphibian populations and when I wasn’t wrangling frogs, I was hiking, drawing and taking photos. Lots of them! And although, it’s been a few years since I’ve been back to Yellowstone, I thought that now would be a meaningful time to share a field biologist’s perspective on one of our many national treasures. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy this journal and photos of standing on rocky ledges overlooking waterfalls or glancing up from catching tadpoles to find that my field partner had been replaced by a moose or getting chased by a pair of ridiculously cute river otters and you will be inspired to get out there and do the same (okay, maybe not all of it!). Nonetheless, the wilderness is calling. Immerse yourself or just dip a toe in. Either way, don’t separate yourself from the beauty that awaits you.
