Doula Bundles

I offer several bundles that may assist you through these difficult times, or in the very least get you thinking about your needs. Services are certainly not set in stone nor are they one-size-fits-all, this is merely a starting point. If you need a service added or subtracted, we can work together to come up with the perfect plan for you. That’s why the initial consultation is free. Then a contract is developed and agreed upon. My fees are based on a sliding scale and can be adjusted depending on need.

Also, don’t think that just because we live far away from each other that I can’t be of service to you. You’d be amazed at how far doulas have come in offering services via the internet. The only thing that I can’t accomplish from a distance is basic care-giving, vigil sitting and cleaning/organizing services, everything else is quite doable. I can help you plan and perform an online celebration of life service where people join in from far and wide. I can walk you through how to prepare and care for a body during a home funeral so that you feel confident and empowered to perform the steps yourself. I can assist you with filling out advance directives from the comfort of our respective homes. So basically, what I’m saying is that if you’re in need of my services, we can find a way.

Bundle #1: Comprehensive

  • 4 scheduled (1-2 hour) visits which can focus on advance directives, living wills, wishes for care, legacy work, eulogy & obituary writing, listing items that you want to gift to others, writing final messages, exploring body disposition wishes and options, memorial/celebration of life wishes, etc…
  • Unlimited phone/email access

Bundle #3: The Rest of Your Life Planner weekly meetings

This package is for those who have been avoiding making their end-of-life plans but know they should and require some motivation and accountability. Together we will focus on a different section of the Rest of Your Life Planner each week. We will make end-of-life planning less overwhelming and more fun. Ideally, this bundle should be done in advance of any life-threatening health issues so that we have a lot of time to relax into this and consider all options. For planning that needs to be done at a quicker pace, I suggest considering Bundle #2: Preparation. This can be done virtually or in-person.

  • 8 scheduled (1 hour) visits which will focus on all of the aspects of the Rest of Your Life Planner. This includes advance directives, living wills, wishes for care, legacy work, eulogy & obituary writing, listing items that you want to gift to others, writing final messages, exploring body disposition wishes and options, memorial/celebration of life wishes, etc…
  • The Rest of Your Life Planner is included in this bundle.

Bundle 4: Hands-On Care

This package is for someone who need hands-on assistance.

  • A free initial, in-person or virtual consult (approx. 30 minutes in duration)
  • 4 scheduled (2-3 hour) visits which can include light housekeeping, meal preparation, providing respite, pet care, soothing art & crafts activities, helping to write letters to loved ones, reading aloud, going for walks, gardening, light massage or reiki, etc.

Bundle #5: Post-Passage Aftercare**

This bundle is focused on preparing for what happens after a loved one passes. This allows family and friends the opportunity to grieve without having to worry about every single detail. This can be done virtually or in-person.

  • A free initial, in-person or virtual consult (approx. 30 minutes in duration)
  • 4 scheduled (1-2 hour) visits which can focus on exploring body disposition wishes and options, walking clients through the process of having a home funeral so they feel empowered and prepared, helping clients design and organize a memorial service or celebration of life (I cannot help you plan a funeral service because that steps on the toes of funeral directing in New York State), helping to create an online memorial service for loved ones near or far, making sure that gifted items find their new homes, assistance with organizing and cleaning out spaces, etc…
  • Unlimited phone/email access
  • Post-passage visit to process the experience with loved ones

Price: $0 to $400 sliding scale

Bundle #6: Home Funeral 101**

This bundle is focused on preparing for a funeral at home. Home funerals can be an extremely healing and beautiful experience. It’s an opportunity for loved ones to gather together and say their goodbyes in a comfortable, intimate space and not have to worry about severe time constraints or their budget. However, the idea of a home funeral can be daunting so I can help walk you through it. This can be done virtually or in-person.

  • 1 scheduled (1 hour) visit which will walk you through the process of hosting a home funeral including body care tips and ceremonial ideas.
  • Post-passage visit to process the experience with loved ones
  • I also make home funeral kits that you can buy which will ensure that you have everything you need on-hand. This bundle can be paired with the kit or just purely be a consultation only.

Price: $0 to $70 sliding scale Additions: $120 for the home funeral kit

Bundle #7: Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula Consult

Animals are our best friends and life companions. Since they can’t directly tell us their wishes, when one of our beloved animals is nearing the end of their life, every decision we make about their care can become an agonizing guessing game. I’m here to help you gain a little more clarity and comfort with the end-of-life process. This can be done virtually or in-person.

  • 1 scheduled (1 hour) visit to review end-of-life care options and to recommend animal comfort and home safety measures.
  • 1 schedule (1 hour) visit to provide emotional and logistical support during the dying process.

** After-death care is regulated differently in each state. To find out what your state’s regulations are, click here. For example, in New York State, a funeral director must be hired to file the death certificate; receive the body from a hospital, institution or other place; personally supervise the funeral services; and personally supervise the interment or cremation. No matter where you live, it is legal in every state to bring or keep a loved one home for a ceremony of the family’s design and choosing. An end of life doula/home funeral guide does not perform hands-on after-death care and cannot charge for those services. They also cannot charge for making funeral arrangements. However, they can help guide families through the process and they can charge for consultation, education and for providing supplies. For more information on home funerals visit The National Home Funeral Alliance.
